Goings on...

I could talk about how I haven't blogged in awhile, but ... duh. Early on this week Ryan and I returned from a mad-fun trip to Colorado for Erin (sis-in-law)'s wedding and celebration of our 1st Annivesary...it was a total love weekend. Awwww.

I don't know about others, but Ryan and I have noticed that since we've been married, being at or participating in weddings is a totally different ball game; what the pastor says has a whole new meaning since we entered in to the marriage covenant just over a year ago. I really appreciated what Joe, the pastor at Erin & Steve's wedding, had to say to them during the ceremony. He really spoke to the essential and primary relationship each partner has with Christ and that because His grace is sufficient ("My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9) for each person in the marriage covenant, that His grace is also sufficient enough to sustain the covenant between the 2 people.

Even before I was married I was deeply moved by the illustration of the Church being the bride of Christ. It really is a beautiful picture and an amazing gift that people are given in marriage.

Oh, and that picture is of Erin & Steve's ring bearer and flower girl who were playing on the hill of the golf course where the rehersal dinner was held...
